Fort George G. Meade is a major U.S. Army installation in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, occupying nearly 5,000 acres between Baltimore and Washington D.C. It is the fourth-largest employer of all Army installations in the United States and home to some of the nation's most critical defense and intelligence agencies, including the National Security Agency (NSA) and U.S.Cyber Command. The surrounding communities of Odenton, Severn, and Laurel offer a range of housing for military personnel, federal employees, and civilian commuters drawn by the area's central location and excellent highway access.
