Georgetown is Washington D.C.'s oldest and most storied neighborhood, predating the founding of the capital itself. Established as a tobacco port on the Potomac River in 1751, Georgetown was a thriving city in its own right before being absorbed into the District of Columbia in 1871.

Today it is one of the most desirable residential addresses in the nation a mix of Federal-style townhouses, 19th-century row houses, and grand mansions alongside upscale boutiques and world-class restaurants along M Street and Wisconsin Avenue.

The neighborhood is unique in D.C. for having no direct Metro rail service, which has helped preserve its quiet, residential character.Despite this, it is highly walkable and connected by bus, Circulator, and the Capital Crescent Trail to the broader region.

This would be content entered in the Full Description Field. This field allows you to enter as much descriptive copy as you like. It is a rich text field, meaning you can include different heading levels, bold and italic text, links, bullet and number lists, images, even videos from YouTube or Vimeo. We usually recommend writing and editing content in Google Docs, this way you can use tools like Grammarly if you wish to help with spelling, grammar and usage. Google docs also has the advantage of allowing you to copy all your content from a Google doc, then simply paste it into the "Post body" field in the website editor.

Single images can be added right in the rich text area, or you can add an image gallery. Single videos can also be added in the rich text area, but we built a field just for a video url that you can use to add a video as well. Which option would you use when? If you have both an image gallery and a video you wish to feature, we'd recommend adding the video URL to the optional video field, this creates a tab structure so that site visitors can easily switch between the video and the image gallery. You can play with various options here to see how this works.

Each area is a "parent" element, neighborhoods belong to one and only one parent "area" - this allows your site visitors to view neighborhoods by featured areas.
